Pay & Support

Professional payments & support

Foster carers receive an amount per child divided into three elements:-

  • A professional fee
  • Money for clothes and pocket money for the child
  • Expenses to cover the care of a child

All our foster carers have a named supervising Social Worker who they will work with for the duration of placement where possible.

We know that fostering is a 24 hour role and at times support and advice is needed outside of normal working hours. That’s why The Fostering Team provides a 24 hour support service, which incorporates an on call system, ready to help – whatever the time.

Weekend Provision – Saturday Slots

Not only are our Saturday Slots sessions great, local fun, they also provide much needed support for you on a fortnightly basis.

Saturday Slots consist of  training for carers with  a community feel. There are plenty of activities for children and an opportunity to meet other carers to discuss  the sharing of ideas and support.

Just for Men – evening support group

An opportunity for male carers to meet and interact with others to gain advice, information and support in a comfortable environment. Alongside Just for Men runs Team Teen: a teenage group with obligatory pizza and snacks!

Supervision of carers

Individual and group supervisions enhance Foster carer’s skills and allow for peer support and learning.

Foster carers receive 2 weeks paid respite

All carers upon approval become members of the fostering network, which provides further information and support, as well as access to research and resources.
